9 Things Your Current Conference Room Doesn't Do

Team Oblong

Work for lots of us means lots of meetings. Collaborating with others and their laptops in a room with a speakerphone, a large presentation screen to plug into, maybe a white board, and perhaps some video conferencing capability. Almost always, there are documents, charts, slides, images, live data, and video feeds to share in the meeting, probably by multiple people.  Whatever the technology you use, if you don’t have

 1. Captivate your audience

A meeting room environment that is immersive, interactive, and responsive makes people sit up and take notice. With large high definition screens spanning multiple surfaces, you’ve got the space to spread out your work. With the spatial operating environment of Mezzanine, you can control that material with your iOS device, your laptop, or most impressively, with the gestures of a remote wand.

 2. Connect your applications and remote participants all at once

The CEO is in an airport, you’re visiting a field office, your team is at HQ, and the VP is at a trade show. You need to connect everyone (on different devices) to review and compare urgent information pulled from three different platforms: a cloud-based server application PLUS field notes PLUS an excel spreadsheet PLUS real-time data from the web. Using Mezzanine, all the team members can join the session and simultaneously view all the content feeds  in a shared workspace. This is something we call Infopresence and it’s only available with Mezzanine

3. Help you make decisions faster

When everyone -- and their devices – is an equal citizen in the room, data can be accessed quickly and solutions surfaced more easily. Information can appear in context, in real-time, and side-by-side from a variety of sources. Mezzanine brings the experts you need and the data you require together to help you make better decisions, faster.

4. Facilitate meeting flow

You are a subject matter expert in your organization, and your co-workers equally have expertise in their domain. Together you’re tasked with driving the project and the business forward. Wouldn’t it be great if everyone could simply share their content on the screens at the same time so you could all see it, compare it, talk about it? With Mezzanine, plugging in and sharing wirelessly is seamless, allowing the conversation, content and collaboration to adapt as ideas come up.

5. Help you make a point dynamically

What if you could scale, layer, move, and resize multiple pieces of content from multiple sources to help you illustrate your discussion point dynamically? What if you could access the content someone ELSE put up on the screen and do the same thing – bring it to the front of attention – just with the wave of a wand? You can do this with Mezzanine

6. Give you a large elastic canvas

The Mezzanine workspace of high definition screens provides a wealth of visual real estate for lots of content, and with digital corkboards on the adjoining wall, you can easily drag and drop content, highlight outtakes, and post agendas for everyone to view and discuss. This is not just single screen sharing, it’s a multi-screen digital workspace that flexes to the needs of the team.

7. Capture thoughts in the moment

Can your current A/V system capture images from brainstorming at a white board, mark up slides, pull photos from the web, or upload photos from your iPhone? Mezzanine does all of this, plus let’s you store all of your content into a portfolio archive for later reference.

8. Pick up next week where you left off

Mezzanine allows you to save all your slide images, white board snapshots, iPhone contributions, notes, and browser screen captures so you can pick up next time where you left off.  Need to see a document from the weekly status report, touch base meeting, or scrum? No problem. Simply dive back into that meeting portfolio. No fuss. No hassle.

9. Clean up after you

While Mezzanine allows you to save all meeting content, there are many times when you don’t want all of your content saved – either for security reasons, or as a courtesy to colleagues who need to use the room next.  For quick ad hoc discussions or meetings with ephemeral content, just disconnect your devices, or close the workspace without saving and all the content will be automatically dismissed.

in Los Angeles, New York, Boston, London, Barcelona, Chicago, Houston, Washington DC, Boulder or Menlo Park. It’s finally possible to transform that boardroom (bored room?) from static and stifling to dynamic and fantastic.
